Ordering copies of your deposition video is a lot more complicated than it used to be, so we've created this guide to help you make your decision.

   Plays on any standard VCR
   Cannot be synchronized
   Won't play on your computer

VHS tapes are the standard format for consumer videotape recorder/players. Not the most convenient, though, unless a VCR and a TV set are right next to your desk. Even then, they are slow to rewind and fast forward, and take up more space on your shelves.

   Plays on almost any computer
   Easy to review
No waiting for tape rewind or fast forward
   Compact storage
   Can be synchronized!

CD-ROMs hold an MPEG-1 digital video file, viewable with the Windows Media Player, Quicktime Player, and all standard MPEG players. Very convenient and most universal.

A full day's video fits on one DVD
Plays on any computer with a DVD drive
   Easy to review
No waiting for tape rewind or fast-forward
   Can be synchronized!

You need a DVD drive on your computer to play DVD-ROMs. DVD-ROMs contain MPEG-1 digital video files, viewable with the Windows Media Player, Quicktime Player, and all standard MPEG players. This option is most convenient if you have DVD drives on your computers.

Note: The DVD-ROM is not directly interchangeable with a DVD-Video or a CD-ROM. Read the descriptions and if you still have questions, call us.

   Plays on DVD-Video players
   Full video picture quality
Needs software for your computer to play them
No waiting for tape rewind or fast-forward
   Cannot be synchronized

DVD-Video discs are the same type of discs as you would get with a movie rental and are playable on any standard movie DVD player. Many computers come with software to play DVD-Video discs, but not all.
